How to Use Coravin Sparkling®

Important Safety Information

System Warnings

  • Use System ONLY with sparkling wines, such as champagne, prosecco and cava.
  • DO NOT USE System with still wines. Bottles may burst and cause serious injury.
  • System is designed to work ONLY with genuine Coravin Pure™ Sparkling CO2 Capsules (20g/0.71oz).
  • DO NOT USE System for anything other than its intended use.
  • System is not a toy. Keep out of reach of children.
  • ANY pressurized bottle may break if dropped or impacted resulting in projectile glass and possible serious injury to anyone nearby. Always use care when pressurizing a bottle and when handling a pressurized bottle. Condensation makes bottles slippery.
  • Use the supplied bottle bag or similar cover to reduce the risk of injury should a pressurized bottle break due to drop or impact.
  • Use of non-Coravin capsules, re-use of any part of the Capsule, or connection to sources of gas other than Coravin Pure™ Sparkling CO2 Capsules is dangerous and may cause injury to users or others nearby.
  • Alternative gas sources are NEITHER tested NOR approved by Coravin, Inc. The use of alternative gas sources will void the Coravin System warranty and remove all responsibility of Coravin, Inc. from any issues or injury that may arise.

Gas Capsule Warnings

  • Gas Capsule CONTAINS GAS UNDER PRESSURE, MAY EXPLODE IF HEATED.
  • Gas Capsules may be VERY COLD when empty. Use care when handling.

Wine quality is impacted by many factors. Use the Coravin Sparkling™ System only as intended and properly clean System after each use. Coravin, Inc. cannot guarantee the quality of any wine and will not be responsible for damage or loss of any wine unless that damage or loss is found to be caused by a defective Coravin System.


Read and follow all WARNINGS and instructions before use. PRESSURIZED BOTTLES MAY BREAK IF DROPPED RESULTING IN PROJECTILE GLASS. USE CORAVIN BOTTLE BAG TO REDUCE RISK OF INJURY.

Installing and Removing the Sparkling Stopper

WARNING: Never use on still wines.

Installing the Sparkling Stopper

Remove cork and foil around the neck. Pour sparkling wine.

Raise Locking Handle until you can see unlock symbol. Place Sparkling Stopper on bottle.

Firmly press down until Locking Handle is flush. Significant force may be required.

Removing the Sparkling Stopper

To remove Sparkling Stopper, place hand securely on top of Stopper. Tilt Stopper or pull Locking Handle halfway to release pressure. Then pull Handle to unlocked position and remove Stopper.

Pour sparkling wine.

Installing a Capsule

Installing a Capsule

This System is designed to work ONLY with genuine Coravin Pure™ Sparkling CO2 Capsules. Always check that the Pressure Indicator on the Sparkling Charger is RED (no gas remaining) before installing a new Capsule.

Slide Latch Cover up to reveal Door Latches.

Squeeze Door Latches in firmly and pull open to reveal Capsule Bay Release.

Slide Release up to open Capsule Bay.

Insert new Coravin Pure™ Sparkling CO2 Capsule, black cap UP.

Close Capsule Bay firmly until you hear audible click.

Close Access Door firmly until it latches. This action will puncture CO2 capsule. Check that Pressure Indicator is green. DO NOT open Access Door until Pressure Indicator is red.

Slide Latch Cover down to cover Door Latches.

Preserving Champagne & Other Sparkling Wines

Understanding the Coravin Sparkling™ Pressure Indicator

Sparkling Charger has a green/red Pressure Indicator on the side to show when a bottle has been fully charged with CO2 and if the CO2 cartridge has gas or is empty.

Red

Sparkling Charger in use: will shift from red to green when fully charged Sparkling Charger not in use: CO2 is empty

Green

Sparkling Charger in use: bottle is charged Sparkling Charger not in use: has CO2 gas and is ready to use

WARNING: Opening Access Door on Sparkling Charger when Pressure Indicator is green will result in rapid CO2 release and Capsule will be cold to the touch. Handle with care.

Charging the Sparkling Wine Bottle

Make sure Sparkling Charger Nozzle and top of Sparkling Stopper are clean.

Align Sparkling Charger on top of Sparkling Stopper and press straight down firmly until you hear CO2 releasing into bottle.

Hold until you hear gas stop or Pressure Indicator turns green. If you hear gas leaking out, check that you are pressing straight down and Sparkling Charger is well seated.

Store bottle in refrigerator on its side for best preservation results.
